Almost Two-and-a-half Years Old

What do you get when your almost two-and-a-half year old is trying to outgrow her nap?

Falling asleep on the kitchen counter while mama is cooking supper....

The mess in the kitchen by the time supper rolls around, because all spare moments {that used to be used for quick pick-ups} have been consumed by said two year old....

Piles of laundry waiting to be hung...

A {hopefully!} sleeping baby, because when they are both awake and mama is trying to teach school? Yikes!!!

Falling asleep on baby sister's mat {and mama trying to sneak a towel under her, because she's not yet making it through naps dry}...

Her handiwork when mama comes out of the school room...

Appreciating little blessings like daddy fixing the washing machine that was taking an entire day to wash one load....because mama hadn't been checking pockets and about two bucks worth of change was clogging the drainage pipe...oops!

Two year old keeping herself busy while mama teaches....and then finding that she painted herself....

And her car.....and the porch.....with mud....

Trying to throw supper into the oven as fast as possible, because there is lots of other things requiring my another mess on the floor....and did I mention we are potty-training, too? Again? Yeah.

Realizing my two year old has been wearing Christmas socks all February?

And two year old falling asleep while eating, actually chewing? Not sure how that is possible.
Luckily she'd already had her bath for the night.

Off to bed, sleepy-head!
And now mama can breath a sigh of relief, and go start on the dishes.

Oh, the joys of being a mama of littles!
I wouldn't trade it for the world.....
although some days, I sure wish they wouldn't outgrow their naps so fast!

  1. Smiling. I don't think mine ever fell asleep, though. Maybe once? Loved the pictures!

  2. That is wonderful my dear sister, she is precious, love you all :-)

  3. I hear you, Patty! Elaina is trying to outgrow her naps, too! Some days we skip it, some days we don't. The days we skip - boy howdy! Do we know it has been skipped! :) LOL :) It is hard to see "my baby" grow up, but at the same time, it's exciting. I am excited to see what God has in store for her, too! :) Love you all and miss you tons!!!
