Rains and Reading

Thunderstorms here are a big deal.
Black, rolling clouds, jagged, white lightning, ear-splitting thunder, gale-force winds trying to rip fronds off the palm trees.
And so the lights go out.
I guess the Electric Company thinks it is easier to repair broken lines than blown-up transformers.
I, for one, appreciate that.

So what to do on a Friday night when the lights go out?

We read.

Last night was The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew.

We've also read Peter Pan, Caddie Woodlawn, and few a others.

Guess the lights have been out quite a bit lately.
That's not a bad price to pay, though, for a quiet family night with a good book!
